1.    Athletic Board of Mesini's municipality in cooperation with the Prefecture of Messinia County and the section of Athletics of the Department of Sports Science, Athens University together with the Messinian Health Runners Club will organize the 5th Messini's Marathon on March the29th, 2009.
2.    The Marathon course will be accurately measured with the Jones counter devise approved by the AIMS (Association of International Marathons and Road Races).
3.    International rules for road races (IAAF) will be applied from the organizers and the official race Judges.
4.    The races are open (marathon and 10km) to all athletes no matter if they are club runners or they are not joining a club. The marathon runners must be born in 1990 or before. Age categories will be given a separate classification in agreement with the International Veterans Association. All the participating athletes will sign the consent form before sending the application regarding their ability of participating in athletic competition and that they are participating with their own responsibility.
5.    The Official jury is composed of an official judge whose decision is final. Official race judges and the race technical director assist him.
6.    Refreshments posts will be located at every 5 km and at the finish line. Sponges posts will be located at every 5 km from 7.5km. Timing will be shown at the leading group as well as at the finish line. For timing in the marathon the Dag chip timing technology will be used. Lap time for the half marathon together with the finishing time will be shown in the results list.
7.    Competitors for the marathon race will be permitted up to 5h:30min for completion of the course. After the "end of the race" vehicle has passed competitors should thereafter respect the road traffic code.
8.    Road safety is under the control of the local traffic police department. Medical services are provided by Kalamata's Hospital.
9.    The Dag chip timing will be used for timing. Each competitor will be given a chip (attached on the bib number) when collecting starting documents. Check points will be placed at the start, on the cource and at the finish, to control each competitor's timing. Competitors failing to follow the course will be disqualified. Chips attached to the bib numbers must be returned to the organizers after the race.
10.    Bicycles or motorized vehicles are strictly forbidden on the course.
